Accident Damage

There is a reason why accidents are called fender-benders. Normally, you get hit in the rear bumper or you hit someone in their rear bumper. Unfortunately, this leaves you with a scratched and dented bumper on the front or rear of your car, truck, or SUV. If somebody hits you at an angle, you may end up with dented and bent bumper. In severe cases, the bumper may be totaled, which means you will need to have a new bumper put on your automobile to repair the damage.

Cracks/Punctures/Tears

Accidents can also cause cracks, punctures, or tears. If you live in an extremely hot climate, such as in the Southwest, you may end up with a cracked bumper due to the sun’s intense heat. This damage takes years to occur, but it can occur. A vengeful ex can tear your bumper by keying it or using another sharp object to cause damage. Puncture wounds can be caused by sharp tree branches. All of this damage makes your car’s bumper unsightly and devalues your vehicle.

Dents/Impact Damage

As we mentioned above, an impact caused by an automobile incident will dent the bumper. Other things, such as shopping carts and poles can also dent the bumper if you hit them or, in the case of the shopping cart, it hits you. It is important to park away from shopping cart cues to ensure a stray cart does not dent your bumper or scratch the paint on your automobile.

Scuffs/Scrapes/Scratches

Speaking of scratching the paint, the bumper can also get scratched by all of the things we have discussed in this blog post. Scuffs, scrapes, and scratches are common bumper damage. Somebody may hit your bumper while they attempt to parallel park. You may get dinged by a shopping cart. Numerous road hazards can also damage or scratch the bumper.
